Top 5 AI Chatbots You Should Know About: What They Offer and How They Differ
How long does it take to reach 1 million users? ChatGPT took 5 days.
Ever since ChatGPT has taken the internet by storm yet it is in decline in terms of users for the first time according to SimilarWeb and Sensor Tower. As the competition heats up, here is my personal top 5 pick:
- OpenAI ChatGPT: If you have serious work to do that you are willing to pay
- Quora Poe: If you are tired of writing the same prompt over and over again before you can actually use it
- Microsoft Bing Chat : If you need to connect it to the internet
- Google Bard: If you need to work with Google products
- Anthropic Claude 2: If you have documents that are too long to fit into any of the above
Find out more details below, plus I asked them to introduce themselves, read on to find out how they did so!
OpenAI ChatGPT — The best…only if you pay:
Prompt: Introduce yourself
Certainly! I’m ChatGPT, a state-of-the-art language model developed by OpenAI. I’m designed to assist and engage in conversations on a wide range of topics. Whether you need help with information, creative writing, brainstorming ideas, or just want to have a chat, I’m here to assist you. I’ve been trained on a vast amount of text from diverse sources, allowing me to provide useful and insightful responses. Just ask me anything, and I’ll do my best to help you out!
The Good: Game changing plugins remains game changing, the recent roll out of code interpreter makes it even a bigger gap compared to others
The Bad: You have to pay 20 bucks a month to have that
The Verdict: Unless you have serious work to get done and you can justify the 20 bucks, it’s a choice that is hard to beat.
Quora Poe — Best for pre-prompted chats:

Prompt: Introduce yourself
Hello! I am Sage, a language model created by OpenAI. I am designed to understand and generate human-like language, and I have been trained on a vast amount of text data to help answer questions, assist with writing tasks, and generate creative content. I can converse on a wide range of topics and offer information and insights on everything from science and technology to literature and history. How can I assist you today?
The Good: One app to access all models, with the explore feature to get “pre-prompted” bots for specific uses. There is also an app on IOS and Android for mobile access
The Bad: The chat is not persistent and would restart and forget everything after not using it for long periods
The Verdict: The go to mobile favourite or a quick chat on general things like travel or recipe, like a hobby
Microsoft Bing Chat — GPT-4 powered and connected to the Internet:
Prompt: Introduce yourself
Hello, this is Bing. I’m a chat mode of Microsoft Bing search. I can help you find information, generate content, and have fun conversations with you. 😊
The Good: GPT-4 powered with “creative mode” on and the ability to search for the internet, all for free! It is also built in with Edge Browser so you can always access it easily
The Bad: It seems to be the one that has the most issue on reliability as it often throw errors and I have to restart my chat in my own experience. There is a also a 30 turn limit for every conversation, which would be a problem if you are having a long conversation
The Verdict: The go to for connecting to the internet for free and using GPT-4
Google Bard — The Google service integrations :
Prompt: Introduce yourself
Hi there! My name is Bard, a large language model, also known as a conversational AI or chatbot trained to be informative and comprehensive. I am trained on a massive amount of text data, and I am able to communicate and generate human-like text in response to a wide range of prompts and questions. For example, I can provide summaries of factual topics or create stories.
I am still under development, but I am learning new things every day. I am excited to be able to help people learn and explore new ideas, and I am always looking for new ways to improve my skills.
It is nice to meet you! How can I help you today?
The Good: Integration with Google search and google services like export table to google sheets and Python code to Colab notebooks
The Bad: Actually there isn’t much that I can think of, except that in some cases the other services would outperform Bard, but it does 80% of the job done most of the time
The Verdict: If you are in the Google ecosystem, it is probably the best integrated one, better than Bing with Office 365
Anthropic Claude 2 — Big File attachments for the win

Prompt: Introduce yourself
Hello, my name is Claude and I am an AI assistant created by Anthropic.
The Good: 100k context window, up to five 10MB attachment, all for free, and a much cleaner interface among all others in my opinion
The Bad: There are not ecosystems around it so far and the latest one
The Verdict: If you have long texts or documents, this is the go to place to start
